Studying the Needs of the Aging in New York City: Concept Mapping Report

During the Fall of 2003, the Cornell Institute for Translational Research on Aging (CITRA) began planning for the Studying the Needs of the Aging Project (SNAP) in partnership with the Council of Senior Centers and Services (CSCS). The purpose of this initiative was to better understand the range of issues facing senior service providers over the next 10-15 years in New York City and begin to direct research efforts toward meting identified needs resulting from this and other data. This effort yielded interesting insights regarding priorities to improve the delivery of services to older adults and a basis for moving forward to address the myriad of issues facing the aging in New York City.
